so this is a problem that i’ve been having for more than a few months. now it’s okay if you repost my photos with credit, but if you repost them without giving me credit, or claim them as your own, then we have a problem.

recently me and other people found a girl on instagram who reposted 30+ photos, added her watermark, and claimed them as her own. when we called her out, she said that she was getting bullied, told her followers to block one of my friends who asked her why she claimed other’s photos as her own, and then deleted her account because someone made her a “hate page,” which consisted of proof that she stole photos. not to mention she was reposting photos from melina and marina, who probably have the most famous quality photos. but people defended her, and said that we were lying, even though we had proof. why? because she had 14k followers. her followers would do anything for her, even though she lied to all of them, just because they wanted her to notice them, or give them a shoutout. now if she hadn’t claimed other’s photos as her own, added her watermark, and gave credit would this have happened? no.

another problem: just not getting credit, especially on tip/tutorial accounts. so as you can see on my ipad, my photo (top right) and three other’s, are being used without credit. not to mention that most people add their instagram to their caption, and even add it to their watermark. i’ve gotten the excuse many times that people “can’t see my watermark.” can’t see it? go ahead and zoom in while you’re adding your watermark (yes i can see this certain user didn’t add theirs, i’m not stupid) to your collage of photos that aren’t yours, while you repost a tutorial you took from bethany mota. and the cherry on top is that so many tutorial accounts are so popular. this certain user has 97k followers, but i’ve seen accounts with nearly 200k. these users are practically worshiped. i mean it’s not like you can look up these tutorials up on youtube and find the same exact thing, right?

so now reposting without credit isn’t just a quality thing. it’s a growing problem for personal, rosy, tropical, etc. accounts as well. so if you post your own photos, regardless of your blog type, add a noticeable watermark (so that you can see it, but of course not in your face), because even if you don’t think they’re getting stolen/reposted, they probably are. and PLEASE STOP DELETING CAPTIONS. NO MATTER HOW “ANNOYING” IT IS, DON’T FUCKING DELETE IT. PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE THE REASON WHY NOBODY’S GETTING CREDIT ANYMORE.

so my last parahraph is to the people who repost photos, or have tip/tutorial accounts. PLEASE give credit. I know that you don’t think it’s a big deal, but you didn’t spend thousands on a dslr, tripod, and photoshop to edit. don’t give the excuse you couldn’t read my watermark, or that you didn’t see my instagram in my caption, or that you reposted from someone else. no matter how much you don’t want to, please dear god just give us credit! even tagging me in the photo is enough! giving credit won’t “ruin” your post, or your caption. and if someone politely asks you for credit, don’t ignore them, delete their comment, and DON’T FUCKING BLOCK THEM. GIVE THEM THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE. I’ve politely asked the user in the photo for credit two times, yet I never get a reply. JUST BECAUSE I’M NOT POPULAR ON INSTAGRAM, DOES NOT MEAN YOU DON’T HAVE TO GIVE ME CREDIT, AND IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT NOBODY WILL NOTICE IT’S MY PICTURE.
